Well, retirement was wonderful for three and a half months, but it’s time to get back to work. Later this month, I will begin my job as executive director for homeland security training in the state of Kentucky. I’ll be involved with training for all first responders, including fire, rescue and police. We will also provide training in various areas for the civilian population as well. Even though being on an extended vacation from work was great, it will be good to get back into the swing of things again.

Today was my last day at work.  Tomorrow I officially begin life as a retiree.  Weird!!  I have enjoyed 30 years of employment as a police officer (8 years) and 22 years in the field of law enforcement training.  I look forward to a break from work, but also look forward to the challenges of a future career, whatever that may be.
